Hiking at Vogel

Hiking at Vogel

Vogel already offers you breathtaking views during the cable car ride. With every meter of altitude, new dimensions of the Julian Alps and Lake Bohinj open up to you  in every season of the year. It is an excellent choice for those who want to reach Alpine views in a simple way or cannot reach them otherwise.
At the upper Vogel cable car station, located at an altitude of 1535 m, in good weather, a spectacular panoramic view opens up from Komna, Triglav range, all the way to the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
The cable car ride saves you quite a lot of time, and upon exit, you are at an excellent starting point for beautiful shorter and longer hiking tours.

We advise you to follow the basic principles of SAFE HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS, especially If you are going on a hike alone:
• do not overestimate your abilities.

For carefree hiking

Before you set off, check the current weather conditions and equip yourself accordingly. We recommend good quality hiking boots, multi-layered clothing to adapt to the temperature and protection against sun, wind and rain. Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, despite a good forecast.

VERY IMPORTANT - carry a sufficient amount of water with you. There are no water sources in the lower Bohinj mountains. You can refuel and refresh yourself in the Orlove glave mountain inn and on the way back in the Merjasec mountain hut or the Vihanik restaurant. However, there is also no drinking water in the restaurants, except for bottled water.

Our concern for your safety is paramount, so please follow the instructions and enjoy a worry-free experience.
